Draft for review: this page was prepared as a starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before the game launches.
The Ancient Spire (the "Game") is made by Michael Barbu ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Game collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@theancient.games.
Who the Game is for
The Game is intended for people aged 13 and older. We ask for your age when you first open the Game and do not allow younger players. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Information we collect

| Sign-in details | If you sign in with Apple, Google, email or Facebook: an account identifier and, where you allow it, your name and email | To save your progress to your account and restore it on a new device |
| Facebook friends | If you connect Facebook and allow it: your Facebook name and picture, and the list of your Facebook friends who also play the Game | To add friends who play to your friends list. We do not post to Facebook for you. |
| Game progress | Floors completed, stars, moves, Gears, items, boosters, race results, friends list, invite code | To run the Game, save progress and run Spire Races |

| Device and usage | Device model, operating system, app version, language, a device identifier, crash reports, how you play (for example where players stop) | To keep the Game working, fix problems and tune difficulty |

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos (other than a player icon you choose to upload) or microphone input.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Game, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
- Microsoft Azure PlayFab: accounts, saved progress, friends, races and the Game's servers.
- Apple and Google: sign-in, in-app purchases and app distribution.
- Meta (Facebook): Facebook Login, only if you choose to connect Facebook.
- AppLovin MAX and the ad networks it works with (such as Google AdMob and Unity Ads): showing and measuring ads.
- GameAnalytics: gameplay analytics.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: push notifications.
- Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety: checking usernames and uploaded icons for inappropriate content.
Other players can see your username, player icon, robot, highest floor and race results. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect players' safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the Game.
Ads and your choices
The Game shows ads. On iPhone, the Game asks for permission before using your advertising identifier for personalized ads; you can change this in iOS Settings. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Players under 18 are shown only non-personalized ads. In the EU, UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as purchase records). Analytics data is kept in a form that does not identify you.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data at any time. See how to delete your data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in California, the EU or the UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email support@theancient.games. We will not treat you differently for using them. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with our providers using industry-standard protections. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a sign-in method you keep safe.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the Game.
